The scientists discover shocking facts about cellulite.
It is a well-known skin condition of hips, buns and sometimes arms, stomach and shoulders when the skin becomes irregular and it appears many lumps and dimples. For which reason cellulite is called “orange peel effect”. Medically speaking, cellulite is structural changes in the subcutaneous fatty tissue leading to microcirculatory and lymphatic drainage disorder.
What is cellulite?
In the medical field cellulite is called “lipodystrophy” or “liposclerosis”. There is no one opinion about cellulite, most doctors don’t consider cellulite as a disease.
It’s interesting to know that firstly cellulite was named as a contour deformity not long ago in 1973, when the article about cellulite (written by a beauty salon owner Nicole Ronsar) appeared on the Vogue pages. Till then cellulite is considered to be a normal condition for women.
Cellulite mainly occurs girls aged 20-25, often during or after pregnancy. To find out whether you have cellulite or not, you can take a simple test: squeeze the hip’s skin with both hands. And if it appears a visible view of “orange peel”, it’s the first sign of cellulite. If you, even not squeezing the skin, see roughness, lumps, dimples; you, as the majority of women, have cellulite.
Stages of cellulite:
There are 4 cellulite stages in cosmetology.
The 1st stage – pre-cellulite
There are no visible signs in this stage. It appears a little water retention in the body tissues and bruises after light strokes.
The 2nd stage – primary stage
It appears water retention in the body tissues, toxins tend to accumulate in your tissues, your cells get a lack of oxygen. You can see the changes only when you tissue the skin and it appears “the orange peel effect”. You can observe some paleness, the reduction of skin elasticity in the damage area.
The 3rd stage – micronodular
Water retention in the body tissues and the microcirculation disorder are progressing. You can see the obvious “orange peel effect” without special tests, while standing or lying. You can feel for small and medium knots on your hips, buns and arms, stomach and shoulders. It appears visible water retention in the body tissues, spider angiomas, pain feelings when deep pressing.
The 4th stage – macronodular
There is a lymph congestion, edema, disturbed venous drainage. Due to the lack of oxygen it appears much more scars and edema. You can see the next features on the 4th stage: knots are obvious, large, painful, glomerated with skin. It is easy to feel large knots with hands. There are dimples and tissue calcification areas on the body. A great water retention in the body tissues, much pain when pressing the skin and the temperature of your body tissues varies locally.
Fortunately, the 4th stage is a quite rare event. The most common are the 2nd and the 3rd. It’s enough your own efforts for the 2nd and the 3rd stages. The 4th stage requires medical care.
